Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, and Incline Village and Crystal Bay are making a week of it: a Thriller dance class, the village's own haunted forest, a horror movie under the stars at Sand Harbor, a carnival at the Hyatt, and two nights of costume parties at the Crystal Bay Casino. Here's everything on the calendar, in order, with what to know before you go.

SUNDAY, OCT. 25

Thriller Dance Workshop Alibi Ale Works, Incline Public House (931 Tahoe Blvd.) · 9:30 to 11 AM Two instructors from Moonlight Movement teach the Thriller dance, just in time to flash mob at Alibi's Halloween ball on Thursday. Suggested donation is $10.

THURSDAY, OCT. 29

Trail of Treats & Terror Village Green (960 Lakeshore Blvd.) · 3:30 to 5:30 PM The big one for families, and an Incline tradition since 2001. Walk the haunted forest, trick-or-treat along the trail, and snap a family photo. It's free, but you need to RSVP: reserve one Eventbrite ticket for your whole group, then enter how many kids and adults are coming. Kids must be with an adult. The Incline Tahoe Foundation also asks everyone to bring proof of IV/CB residency, like an IVGID picture pass, an ID with a local address, a lease, or a utility bill. Wear your best costume. Food and drinks are for sale.

Parking for Trail of Treats: use the Recreation Center, Tennis Center, or Incline Middle School lots. ADA parking is in the Aspen Grove lot. Please don't walk along Incline Way. Follow the marked paths to the staffed crossing behind the Recreation Center, where the back drive is closed to cars during the event.

Creatures of the Dark Halloween Ball Alibi Ale Works, Incline Public House · 9 PM to midnight Alibi's 8th annual Halloween party: DJ Kandy on the decks, Moonlight Movement aerialists performing over the dance floor, indoor and outdoor bars, and a costume contest. Tickets are sold ahead through Alibi's website.

FRIDAY, OCT. 30

Spooky Harbor: Trick 'r Treat Sand Harbor Stage, Sand Harbor State Park · about 30 minutes after sunset (listed for 7 PM) The last of Sand Harbor's Friday Halloween movie nights this October, with Trick 'r Treat on the outdoor stage by the lake. It's free with regular park entry and needs no registration. The film is rated R, so anyone under 18 needs an adult. There are no concessions, so bring snacks, a blanket, and warm layers. It's weather-dependent; call the park at (775) 831-0494 if the forecast looks iffy.

Creeper's Ball, Night 1: The Funk Hunters with Rambo Party Crown Room, Crystal Bay Casino (14 NV-28) · doors 8 PM, show 9 PM The Crystal Bay Casino's two-night Halloween party opens with Canadian DJ duo The Funk Hunters and their live visuals. Costumes encouraged. 21 and over. Tickets through the casino's website.

SATURDAY, OCT. 31 · HALLOWEEN

Hyatt Halloween Carnival Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe (111 Country Club Dr.) · 3 to 9 PM A Halloween carnival at the Hyatt, listed on the Incline Village Crystal Bay Business Association calendar. Details are light so far, so check with the Hyatt before you go.

Creeper's Ball, Night 2: Balkan Bump with Smoked Out Soul Crown Room, Crystal Bay Casino · 9 PM Creeper's Ball wraps up on Halloween night with Balkan Bump, trumpet player and producer Will Magid's mix of electronic beats and Balkan brass, plus Smoked Out Soul. Costumes encouraged. 21 and over.

A few tips: at 6,225 feet, Halloween evenings here are often near freezing, so plan costumes that work over a warm layer. Plans can change with the weather, so check each organizer's page before heading out. We keep every event updated at visitinclinevillage.com/events.
