Incline Village's changing restaurant scene: what closed, and what's new

If you haven't updated your dinner rotation in a while, you're overdue: Incline Village's restaurant scene has quietly turned over, with several longtime names gone and a wave of new kitchens taking their place.
The biggest goodbye is the Lone Eagle Grille. The Hyatt's lakefront dining room served its final night on February 27, 2025, closing after three decades of anniversary dinners and sunset views — and the space is slated to become a Nobu, with construction underway. Inside the resort, the former Sierra Cafe has already been reborn as Osteria Sierra, a northern Italian osteria, joined by Cutthroat's Saloon and the grab-and-go Tahoe Provisions.
The Lone Eagle isn't alone. Fredrick's Fusion Bistro, Mountain High Sandwich Company, Wildflower Cafe, and Hacienda de la Sierra have all closed as well — four spots that anchored a lot of local routines.
But the turnover cuts the other way too. In the Country Club mall, Paxton's relaunched the former Austin's space this year under local ownership, with scratch cooking and menus that change with what's fresh, as the Sierra Sun first reported. Incline Bak'd is now baking sourdough, stromboli, and focaccia sandwiches in Mountain High's old suite, and FUMO Cafe, Eatery & Bar runs from breakfast through evening cocktails a few doors down.
Along Tahoe Boulevard, the newer arrivals keep coming: Rosewood Tahoe (New American, open since 2023), Bar La Loca (Spanish tapas in Christmas Tree Village), Koi Sushi, Sage Leaf (locally sourced brunch by day, dinner by night), Happy Tiers Cafe (espresso on Coffeebar beans and a rotating bakery case), and Sam Choy's Ohana Diner, serving poke bowls and loco moco inside Bowl Incline. Even Crosby's got a refresh — the longtime tavern is now Crosby's Kitchen & Cocktail. And over the state line, the Steak & Lobster House at the Crystal Bay Casino keeps the old-Tahoe supper-club flame lit.
