The first full weekend of August is a busy one, with the summer concert series in full swing, a classical season finale, and back-to-back author and artist talks. Here's what's on the calendar for August 7–9.
Friday starts early: Stuff the Bus, the community school-supply drive, runs from 1 p.m. at Raley's, and the 2026 Music at Ski Beach series picks up at 4 p.m. with music on the sand. At 7 p.m. The Classical Continuum plays the Classical Tahoe pavilion at UNR Tahoe, and if you've still got energy after that, Country Fridays line-dance night gets going at 9 at Alibi's Incline Public House.
Saturday is the night to plan around. Paella on the Patio starts at 5:30 p.m., and at 7 there's a genuine traffic jam of good options: Classical Tahoe's season-finale performance of Beethoven's 7th at the pavilion, the Writers in the Woods speaker series with author Lauren Hough at UNR Tahoe's Prim Library, the Visiting Artist Lecture Series with Esy Casey at the Holman Arts & Media Center, live music at Glasses Wine Bar, and Mustache Harbor bringing the yacht rock to the Crystal Bay Casino. Neon Nights closes out the evening at 8 back at Alibi.
Sunday winds down gently with Chamber Music at Sugar Bowl at 5 p.m. — that one's at Lake Mary on Donner Summit, so it's a drive, but a pretty one.
On the eats side: Azzara's has a new dinner specials board running (snow crab cakes to paella alla Valencia), Inclined Burgers' burger-and-a-draft combo runs daily 11–3, Crosby's Kitchen & Cocktail pours happy hour Friday 3–6, and Drink Coffee Do Stuff's summer lattes are still on.
